Jul 20, Most stump jumpers are seated on a tapered and splined shaft.

By the shaft being tapered and seated the stump jumper is usually not going to just drop off after the bolt is removed. It always takes some hammering (big hammer) and some heat from a propane torch for me to remove them. Quick heat around the shaft.
May 02, Lay out the center of the stump jumper and then drill and tap a 3/4 inch fine thread hole and wind a grade 8 bolt in and maybe it will free the stump jumper. The hole must go through the stump jumper so the bolt pushes on the gearbox stumpcutting.barted Reading Time: 4 mins. Aug 31, Loosen the bolt holding the stump jumper to the splined shaft. Start tractor and engage PTO for a second.
The sudden jar is usually enough to loosen the stump jumper.
Doesn't seem to be enough.

Jul 31, I've worked on a few older King Kutter bush hogs, blade changing can take on a life of it's own! It would be useful to understand which model you are working on, are you trying to remove the bolt that holds the blade to the stump jumper? Is the bolt threaded into the stump jumper or do you have a castle nut on the back (top) of the stump jumper?
